POLYGAMOUS SACRED MESSAGE TO MINISTRY OF EDUCATION – GHANA

6th December 2025 by Francis

VFCP divinely requests that the Ministry of Education convene an Educational Summit to invite heads of institutions, schools, teachers, parents, religious leaders and opinion leaders to address the current trend of the examination crisis and curriculum planning across Ghana. This is because education is a cognitive tool for human development, enhancing human capital and resources for sustainable development. VFCP has found that most of the children who wrote the exams did not understand the subject matter due to the English structure, meaning that English is vital in this context. In my early years at Class One, we were taught how to speak the English language from day one at Nsoatre. In class one, we were taught by Master Oduro, the Headmaster of the Presby Primary School, Nsoatre. Whenever he enters the class, we all stand up and greet him by saluting: Good morning, Sir, and he responds Good Morning, how are you, class? Then we will also answer, We are fine, thank you, Sir. This was in Class One. He taught us how to speak the English language from the very beginning. In those days, there were learning and teaching materials, textbooks, pens, pencils, inks, exercise books, rulers, furniture, sandals for boys and girls to wear to school and chocolates. The Golden Tree and the Cocoa Tree were all given freely at school. School was enjoyable, well-designed, disciplined, respected and high-performing. The teachers’ needs were met, and they were assigned to teach at the school with satisfaction. As I walk across schools in the community, I hear the children speaking Twi, yet the examinations are in English. I can confirm that from 1965 to 1979 English was compulsory in all primary schools, colleges and higher institutions. The University of Ghana was once known as Africa’s Oxford, as students across Africa and beyond came to study at Legon. I was taught by Dr Kwame Afreh, a highly academic. Elsewhere, I met him at the United Nations and Pan-African Secretariat. He recognised me and introduced me to his staff as one of his students. He took me to his office and said, “In the future, return to Ghana and help the nation.”  His Soul rests in perfect peace.  Dr Afreh was an Educator. VFCP has come to help Ghana and Africa develop. Educational reform is needed in Ghana.
