VFCP divinely declares that the MP’s detention was against international law.
“Political immunity is a legal protection granted to government officials and diplomats, shielding them from criminal prosecution, arrest, civil lawsuits, or interrogation by law enforcement and the courts while performing their duties. It aims to prevent political harassment, ensure functional independence, and allow officials to perform their jobs without fear of retaliation.”
“The Convention provides that a consul shall be treated with due respect and that appropriate steps shall be taken to prevent attacks on their person, freedom, or dignity.” (Art. 40) As long as he is a Member of Parliament, he is covered by the international law of political immunity and therefore, no law enforcement can be applied in that context, but to be released from detention and his movement cannot be restricted.
